- Cultural Arts Capstone Design Outcomes Exhibition Successfully Concluded Under MOU with Jongno Cultural Foundation An exhibition titled Revisiting Jongno, showcasing the outcomes of the College of Arts’ Cultural Arts Capstone Design course (instructors: Professor Lim Sungmin and Professor Park Yujin), was held from December 15 to 16 at Sungkyun Gallery in the Business Building on the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus. ▲ Exhibition view of “Revisiting Jongno” The exhibition was organized as part of a regionally connected education project under the RISE initiative and was planned and operated based on a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Jongno Cultural Foundation. A total of 40 students from the College of Arts and the School of Business participated in the course. Through a cultural and artistic lens, students explored everyday life, local culture, and a range of issues facing the Jongno district, presenting their findings and interpretations through exhibition works. Notably, Kim Jin-hwan, Director at the Jongno Cultural Foundation, contributed to the course by delivering a special lecture and serving as a mentor. His engagement provided students with first-hand insights into local challenges and enabled them to propose creative, practice-oriented solutions grounded in real-world contexts. ▲ Special lecture by an expert from the Jongno Cultural Foundation The exhibition consisted of six team-based projects. Each team began with a distinct research question and closely observed Jongno’s streets and residents, as well as its history and contemporary conditions. Based on these observations, the teams proposed diverse interpretations and future possibilities for the district. Through processes of research, planning, and artistic expression, students developed their ideas into tangible outcomes. ▲ Students explaining their projects to visitors at the exhibition This outcomes exhibition stands as a meaningful example of how university education can be organically connected with local cultural fields through the RISE initiative. It also served as a platform to share the learning achievements of students who collaborated across disciplinary boundaries, highlighting the educational value of interdisciplinary and community-engaged learning.

- Department of Fashion Design at Sungkyunkwan University Presents 〈DRAFTS/ARCHIVES: Fashion Work in Progress〉
- 〈DRAFTS/ARCHIVES: Fashion Work in Progress〉 December 17 (Wed)–18 (Thu), 2025 Opening: December 17 (Wed), 5:00 PM Venue: Sungkyun Gallery An exhibition titled 〈DRAFTS/ARCHIVES: Fashion Work in Progress〉, presenting a collaborative assignment by three courses in the Department of Fashion Design—Fashion Styling, Fashion Portfolio, and Digital Fashion Illustration—will open at Sungkyun Gallery on December 17. The exhibition is organized under the guidance of Professors Eunhyuk Lim, Min Heo, and Hyejin Choi, who lead the respective courses. Planned with the active participation of students from all three classes, the exhibition departs from conventional formats that emphasize only finished outcomes. Instead, it foregrounds the processes, experiments, and traces through which fashion work takes shape. As suggested by its title, DRAFTS/ARCHIVES, materials accumulated throughout the creative journey—such as concept books, mood boards, and toiles—function simultaneously as drafts and as archives. Together, they document the students’ evolving ideas, decision-making processes, and creative directions. Professor Eunhyuk Lim, one of the exhibition’s faculty advisors, explained, “This exhibition respects the distinct working methods of each course and is structured to allow their unique creative processes to emerge organically.” In the Fashion Styling course, visitors can follow the development of images through editorial proposals and concept books. The Fashion Portfolio course highlights the transformation of ideas into form, centering on toiles and croquis books. Meanwhile, the Digital Fashion Illustration course showcases experimental explorations of shape and color through mood boards and digital drawings. ※ Instagram link: https://www.instagram.com/skku_fashionexhibition?igsh=MWc4azNrYTF2OXdsbA==

- Department of Fashion Design to Host the 13th Lachesis Exhibition
- Department of Fashion Design to Host the 13th Lachesis Exhibition - Expanding Fashion Creation Through Physical Garments, Virtual Spaces, and AI The Department of Fashion Design (Chair: Professor Lim Eun-hyuk) will present its annual year-end creative showcase, the 13th Lachesis Exhibition, from December 17 to 19 at the Seoul Art Support Center in Daehangno. Titled “REAL / VIRTUAL / AI — A Virtual Fashion Exhibition,” this year’s exhibition brings together physical fashion works, virtual exhibition videos, and AI-driven fashion content. By spanning tangible garments, digital environments, and artificial intelligence, the exhibition explores new possibilities for contemporary fashion creation in an era of technological convergence. The exhibition is organized into three distinct modes. REAL MODE – Pattern Morphology features physical garments that highlight experimental approaches to form-making and design development. Using techniques such as geometric pattern transformation, spiral structures, gathers, and draping, the works trace the creative process from foundational garment construction to expanded sculptural expression, illuminating the formative principles at the core of fashion design. VIRTUAL MODE – Phantom Closet presents garments created exclusively for digital space. Freed from the constraints of physical materials, diverse design languages and imaginative concepts are reinterpreted through digital media, offering new shapes, textures, and sensory experiences. This section investigates emerging territories of fashion expression within virtual environments. AI MODE – Log in to the Future: Sustainable Fashion with AI consists of an AI-generated runway video centered on sustainability. By combining algorithmic image generation with fashion imagination, the works visually articulate the creative potential of fashion design in the age of artificial intelligence. Designed as an interactive exhibition, the event invites audience participation through both online voting and on-site voting for the physical works. The exhibition will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., December 17 (Wednesday) through December 19 (Friday), at the Project Room on the 5th floor of the Seoul Art Support Center, located in Daehangno, Seoul. The exhibition was supervised by Professors Seunghee Seo, Yura Seo, and Sejeong Kang. Related exhibition videos are available on YouTube. ※ Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHFf1UU9Ur0
